The first tradition I'm going to share just involves my primary family: me, my brother, my mom, and my dad.
Every Christmas Eve we had a stocking stuffer tradition. My mom always stuffed our Christmas stockings full of all kinds of good stuff. Some of it was silly, like socks and band-aids, and other times the stockings contained jewelry or money. Nevertheless, we were always excited about our Christmas Eve tradition. Every CHristmas Eve my mom would let us choose one present to open. She had to give it the final approval and it had to be after dinner right before we went to bed, but then we all took turns opening our stocking presents. This was a tradition that we always looked forward to.
Another family tradition that i'll share involves my family on my dad's side - The Matera's. We usually have the traditional Christmas dinner, but as my dad's side of the family is 100% Italian, we also like to add some authentic cuisine. And for Christmas every year, my grandmother makes these authentic Italian anise cookies. I guarantee you've never tasted a cookie like this. She shapes them to look like crescent moons and when they're done, she sprinkles powdered sugar over them. They taste best with a big glass of milk or dunked in coffee. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, my dad has taken over the tradition of making the anise cookies.
Every Year on my dads side of the family we make chocolate covered peanuts, strawberries, pretzels, and any other goodie we can find. on my moms side we have like a big feast. We have a lot of pies, chocolates, cookies, chicken, turkey, and cake.
I agree because all my family come over on christmas and opening presents. After the big meal we would go outside and have snowball fights.
I agree without he statement because without traditions you wouldn't have a specific time or event that involves your family to look forward too. In our house every Sunday night of football season we bet, then watch the game.

I agree that traditions do hold families together. Like going and doing something you all love it helps your family get closer. Even just eating at the dinner table helps your family get together more and its stop your whole family from arguing.

Every chrimas eve on my dad side we all go to chacago and we all get presents for each othe and eat a big meal wach chrismas movie and start to open presents once everyone shows up and we dont leave until 3:00 a.m.
on my moms side of the family on chrismas we get up open our presents that santa had gave us then we have breatfest and we go to my other grandmas and we all eat and talk and have a big dinner we do not get any presents for each oher becuse there are way to many people and many people can not aford presents
Brianna Hensley Well personally I don't agree with that because my experiences with my family like around christmas time and family gatherings we are so disfunctional honestly we are better off just sitting on the couch doing nothing nut watching television.

A tradition in my family is every Christmas Eve my family and i would get together and my dad would give my sister's and I new Pajamas to wear on christmas day but now that my dad has got sick its hard for him to spend time with everyone but he try's so hard to make it a great Christmas for everyone..
